My name is Peter Matthews. I want to share with you the unequalled experience of the coffee growing region of Colombia. In 1993 I was working in a food promotion environment. Francini Osorio was working with me. We struck up a friendship which resulted in my being invited to stay with his family in Colombia. With a large degree of trepidation I accepted the invitation or, as I saw it at the time, a foolhardy venture. I have been back every year since, staying with the family and immersing myself in the culture, I have been extremely lucky to experience real Colombian hospitality and gain first-hand knowledge of this little-understood country. From being present at many family celebrations over the years I am now godfather to my friend’s daughter and he was Best Man at my wedding here in Beer, East Devon. With tourism really opening up it was a natural progression to want to share with you this unique experience.
This introduction to Colombia has a broad appeal. The itinerary is exciting and interesting without it being an all-out adventure holiday.
