Personal Safety and Security
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has lots of good advice to help guide us on all sorts of potential problems when traveling to destinations all over the world. We agree with lots fo this advice and take great care to advise our customers on safety and security issues which can change. As a government body, the FCO is accountable and therefore has to err on the over-cautious side. Whilst there are potential problems, the risk factor varies in different regions. As a result, some of the the advice given for certain areas is completely out of date. We have local knowledge about the area we are going to, and it is extremely unlikely that we will encounter any problems whatsoever. There are, of course, some basic bits of advice which will be important. Don't bring expensive jewellery, dress down in plain colours and keep your wallet in a zipped pocket. On a trip into town, keep your camera in it's bag until you are ready to use it.
